She is best known for her role as Kate Capshaw, an American actress who retired. She is famous for her role as Willie Scott, an American nightclub performer and singer in Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom (1984), directed by eventual husband Steven Spielberg. She was in Dreamscape (1984), Power (86), SpaceCamp (1986) Black Rain(89), Love Affair, Love Affair (1994), Just Cause (1895) and The Love Letter (1999), she has continued to become a household name. Capshaw, whose portraiture has been featured in the Smithsonian National Portrait Gallery Capshaw was born Kathleen Sue Nail in Fort Worth Texas. She is the daughter of Beverley Sue Simon (nee Simon), beauty therapist and travel agent and Edwin Leon Nail, an employee of the airline. When she was of five, she moved to St. Louis and graduated from Hazelwood Senior High School. Capshaw graduated from the University of Missouri in education. She was also a member of Alpha Delta Pi. She taught special education at Southern Boone High School, Ashland, Missouri, as well as Rock Bridge High School, Columbia, Missouri.
