Kari Samantha (born April 28 on 1967) Wuhrer is an American actress and performer. Her career began when she was a teenager and is best recognized for her role as Maggie Beckett in the television series Sliders and as the Sheriff Samantha Parker in the horror comedy film Eight Legged Freaks.Wuhrer was born in Brookfield, Connecticut, the daughter of Karin (nee Noble), an accountant for payroll, as well as German American Andrew Wuhrer, who was a police officer as well as a auto salesman. She is the youngest of three siblings. As a teenager was a nightclub singer, sneaking out of the family home to perform. Following her studies in acting at the Wooster School at 13 years old she pursued a degree in drama at New York University's Tisch School of the Arts at Marymount Manhattan College and Columbia University. Kari started acting in the Wooster School aged 13 before going into drama school at the New York University's Tisch School of the Arts, Columbia University Marymount Manhattan College as well as the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art under the renowned Uta Hagen. Kari stepped into acting as a teenager, and her first TV appearance was on 1987's MTV's Remote Control.
